Eighth Series Recap
It was a chilly start to the Eighth Series with temps in the mid 30s and quite a bit of a breeze at Goose Pond. Test dog JoJo kicked things of at 7 am, and Clooney, number 35, was the first to run the test at 7:35 am.
The Eighth was a Water Triple and the dogs averaged 11.83 minutes per run. There were 4 handles, 1 double handle, one pick up, one rebird, two gun changes, and three bye dogs that came to the line. There was also some interference during Luke's (8) first run, so he finished things off at the end of the day which concluded at 3:16 pm. The entire series took 7 hours, 16 minutes.

The Fifth Series proved to be an arduous one that spanned three days. It was very warm and the dogs did not respond well. Additionally, there were many no birds, handles, and pick ups, but we made it.

All in all, we had 19 handles, 14 pick ups, 16 no birds (two of which were doubles), and the series lasted 14 hours and 25 minutes. Whew!
From those 77 dogs who participated, 37 were called back to the next series, but number 52 scratched, leaving us with 36 for Series Six and Seven.

Fifth Series – Day One – Recap
We began the Fifth Series at 10:42 am at Palmetto Field with dog #76, Flex. It was another beautiful, sunny day but proved to be a bit too warm for the dogs. We also had eight handles, one double-handle, and seven pick ups. The day ended at 4:48 pm. right after dog #23, Kai ran.
We'll resume the series tomorrow morning at 7 am with dog #24, Camo, right after the test dog has at it at 6:45 am. Have a wonderful evening, and we'll see you tomorrow at Palmetto Field!

The Fourth Series has been concluded for the day. We started things off with dog #52, Crash. He was the first of 38 dogs that ran today. There are a total of 77 dogs that will run the test, so we're half way through. We started this series at 2:52 pm and finished at 5:10 pm. That puts the run time at about 3.63 minutes per dog. Day 2 of Third Series Final Recap
We began the Third Series yesterday with 93 dogs around 7:38 am and made it about half way through before calling it quits at 3:58 pm due to lighting conditions.
Today we resumed the series at 7 am with dog #79, FC-AFC Fattoria's Huckleberry Gin, "Huck." Huck was the first of eight handles today for a total of 14 in the series. We only had one no bird today, so things moved along a bit quicker than they had been. There were a total of six no birds in the series. The average run time today was 11 minutes per dog, about the same as yesterday's 11.2 minutes per dog, not accounting for the gun changes. There were also no pick ups, double handles, or scratches either day of the Third Series.
We continue to have a beautiful, sunshine-filled sky with moderate temperatures and mild, steady breeze. We're currently waiting for the callbacks and the starting dog.

Day 1 of Third Series - Recap
We began the Third Series with #29 NFC-AFC Bayou Teche Swing For The Fence, "Foxx," at Mallard Pond around 7:38 am with all 93 dogs. Foxx was the first of 12 handles for the day. There were only five no birds today - much better than yesterday's count of 14. Thankfully, there were no dogs who had more than one. There were also no pick ups, double handles, or scratches.
Overall it was a beautiful day with moderate temperatures and breezes and plenty of sunshine. While the sun kept things comfy, it did cause some issues with shadows in the late afternoon. The runs averaged 11.2 minutes, not taking into account any gun changes.
