Full Choke Winchester, "Chester," handler Deborah Gardner, has started things off this morning as our test dog on day three of series five. He came to the line at 6:53 am.
Left flyer - Chester went into the area of the fall. He passed through the fog belt that's in the draw, then passed under the arc of the bird to establish a controlled hunt. Got it.
Right flyer - He angled across the road and jumped in the cover for a quick couple of looks to get his bird.
Short retired - He began by running along a similar path to his flyer. He climbed the hill and was handled.
Long retired - Good initial line that carried him down the hill through the fog going left of the hay bale. He arrived to set up a hunt pattern short, but he expanded it to include the bird.
